The Foundation for School Development (IFA) was established by a small group of devoted educationalists in 1990. The mission of IFA is to promote non-traditional methods of education, help schools in their own development efforts and to provide opportunity for R&D projects in all levels of schooling. In the past 25 years IFA has published a series of booklets on alternative educational philosophy and practice (ALTERN series) and a number of individual volumes on a wide range of topics from child philosophy to gypsy culture and philosophy of education.
